Operational Basics - Finding and Avoiding Errors

This is a Workshop Module for managers that want to improve productivity and decrease the amount of time they spend on inventory variance problems, accounts receivable issues, unhappy customers due to errors, and the many time consuming events due to mistakes.

The simple errors created by the way people in the business touch the transactions add up to the ongoing poor productivity, customer service issues, and resulting loss in profitability. The people's activity in the business are influenced by the manager's understanding and attention to the accuracy of the transactions. If the errors are going to be significantly reduced, it has to come from a change in behavior of the people. In order to change behavior the manager must know and understand how, where and why the errors occur.

This module will provide that basic skill as well as provide the sensitivity as to where errors in their business are occurring. There are numerous paperwork problems used in the Workshop to provide practice in uncovering the mistakes. The transactions used in these mini case events are that of a typical wholesale distributor that conducts business with inventory in a warehouse in the market where it is located.
